He basically is this generations MJ. He just can't stay healthy but if he did he has all of the two way potential. They're not actually the same player obv but just the ability to hound people on defense and all of the crafty stuff to get to his spot and put people away automatically from the mid range is oddly similar to an older MJ even though they got there in very different ways. People throw around unguardable too much but Kawhi actually does hit that point in the mid range where you watch it and just know whoever it is trying to stop his shot is fucked before anything even happens

This team is in absolute freefall right now. I am trying to believe that they are just saving themselves for another post-ASB run like last season but the reality is they have been building horrendous habits for 2/3rds of the season and do not look like a team that is prepared to make a run. I have literally not ever said this, but it’s time to— at the very least consider— firing Chris Finch. Neutral fans is that a wild heat of the moment take? The team continuing to come out flat every single game, the weird comments against Rudy for just trying to get some accountability after the collapse against the Pels Friday, the nonsensical rotations (still doing Randle-Reid PF-C duo, which predictable gets torched every night, when we know we have a young center who can D up), the comments from Dillingham this weekend making it clear just how hostile Finch was toward letting young guys play and learn. Idk man. This team is absolutely desperate for some answers and from what I’m seeing publicly, Finch is not only not helping to stabilize but has actively played a role in sowing this much discord. The sequence of (another) horrendous effort game against the Pelicans; into Rudy publicly calling out the lack of effort; into Finch calling out Rudy rather than calling out the blatant lack of effort; into arguably their worst game of the season sure does feel like a damning sequence of events.

The Wolves remind me a ton of the LAC era with PG/Kawhi where they just never had a proper point guard, so the offense is never stable. There’s enough talent to win games decisively, but also there are stretches where the ball won’t go down and they gotta pray someone shoots their way back into things. All of this leads to the team looking like they have a low IQ style, which isn’t fully untrue, but also gets overblown because of the lack of a floor general.
